It's a Shame

Today i was attending the International Conference for Assessor / Auditor at Borobudur Hotel Jakarta. According to the invitation, the event will start at 08:00 AM and i tried to arrive before that time. Precisely 07:31 AM i arrived at Flores Ballroom and i was shock because they did not even ready yet. The decorative welcome gate was not set up properly and the registration desks were not set up too.

I said to myself : "are these people giving their attention to this event seriously or not?". I just standing there and watching the event committee preparing the desks, the goody bags, the identification tag and the booklets. This is an International event and they manage it in an amateur way. It is the first shame.

08:20 AM the Master of Ceremony calling the delegates to be seated because the event was getting started. I just realize that the Conference loaded with research papers presentation by various researchers and keynote speakers (from India, Thailand, Indonesia and Europe). That was a big surprise for me because i do like listening to a research presentations.

First speaker was from India. His expertise as the important member of Quality Council of India told us that the from all of the ISO 9001:2000 clauses there were only two clauses that become less of the attention from some Certification Bodies. He present his research paper very good and gave me a wider perspective about Quality Management System. I admire him for what has he done.

Second speaker was from Indonesia. He is the Secretary General of *** . He have the doctoral title and at first i was excited to hear from an expert especially with the highest academic title. I always assumed that the higher someone's education the more critically their way of think. But in that day...i was wrong. Why? i will tell you why in my next paragraph.

He talked about Conformity Assessment and the Globalization (which is an interesting topic). But i was dissapointed. His english was not very good, especially he's a doctor. All i heard he was babbling, stuttering and using a massively wrong grammar like : "free trade will be fair trade if the compete is good" that is one of my example. I know and i understand that even my english is not very good at all but i found that his english is totally broken. He keep using word "increase" to explain about progress, development and programs like : "i want to ask all of you to increase the knowledge to auditors and increase the compete of auditor so that we can increase the compete and increase the way of auditors audit". What the hell???.

At first he talk about Globalization and then Free Trade but in the end he ask us to increase our knowledge in auditing and hopefully increase our way? what way? all of the people inside that ballrom were auditors! they know what they should do!. There were so many unrelevance theme in his speech. I sat on table number 11 there were 7 auditors with me they just smile and keep saying : "i can't understand what he said" , "what is he trying to say?" or "he should learn english more". Funny comments from them and i agree with what they said. The speaker, doctor speaker, must learn and try to become used to reading and speaking english more.

With all do respect sir...your english was damagely broken and i could not understand with any single word you say. All i hear is only : "increase". I know i have an average score of TOEFL but honestly, i can speak english better than him!. This is the biggest shame of this event. I was curious to see the foreign speaker faces when they listening to his presentation and one of them (i think from Europe) keep holding his chin, raising his eyebrows and looking around...signs of ignoring something or maybe signs of hardly to understand something.

With all do respect sir...as the Secretary General of *** you should have to speak english very fluently because you have a big responsibility in bridging between Indonesia's QMS interests and the other countries standard.

It is a SHAME

Pre Wedding Havoc Part 1

Last night i did a mistake. I slept when i was talking with my baby on the phone. Here's the story...

Last night i was very tired and had a very stressful day at work. I really, really exhausted and still i had to find something to eat (and for the information) i had to ride my bike through the rains. At precisely 08:00 PM my neighbor came to pickup their boxes from my backyard. They've done by 08:20 PM and after that i cleaned my backyard. 09:00 PM i called my baby and have a small talk about her day at home and did not ask about my day. I know that, currently, she is unemployment so lots of her time was spending at home taking care of all her house (imagine for straight 12 hours!).

For about 45 minutes or less i ask her that i don't mean to ignore her, it just lots of work at this end of this year because i have to write annual report. I even ask her permission to end the conversation because i was so tired and she refused because she feels that my time for her is too short from time to time. So i continue talking to her and suddenly...i slept while we're in the middle of a conversations. I woke up and read her sms that she was very upset because she felt unimportant for me. This is why in the first time i asked her to end the conversations because i knew that this would be happened. She's upset and until now she turned off her cellphone...

Mario Teguh once said :

I know i did a huge mistake, but why she won't, at least, know my condition and listen my reason about it?.

Well baby, i have my reason and i hope you want to know it, well at least just scream to me.

Pre Wedding Havoc

I always heard that when a couple plan to get married they will undergo some serious argumentation with his/her partner, and for some couple out there the serious argumentation will lead them to cancel their marriage plan.

I have found this "myth" is true. Me and my future wife had plan to get married on this November 2008 and yes we had lots of serious argumentation that lead to a fight. I even have a name for our moment of fight, it called : 'fight night'. Once or twice in a month we always had an argumentation about all kind of things and now little by little i know we made small things turns out to be a big problems.

I did not enjoy every time we have an argumentation/debate. It wasting my time, my energy and my logic thinking. Today i read my sister's magazine and i found an interesting article about "reasons why man angry to his woman".

1. She dictate what should he do.
2. She demanding too much about everything from him.
3. She wants him to always know what is in 'her mind'.
4. She blame him for what he did not do.
5. She blame him for the 'unhappiness' condition.
6. She makes a problem of everything he did.

So far, i did not get angry yet. I notice that six reasons above are true and honestly some of it was the main reason why we're get in a 'fight night'.

What can i understand now is, when you choose someone to become your lifetime partner do this :

1. Accept who he/she is.
2. Don't change him/her to someone that you want.
3. Stop demanding but start asking.
4. Trust him/her for what they do is for good to both of you.
5. Accept what he/she give you don't judge by the price!.
6. Don't hesitate to ask question to him/her.

Well, there's six reasons why man angry and there's six reasons to avoid 'fight night'.

If by accidentally my future wife read this, well baby..i still love you as much as you do.

Two Days of Suprises

Since July 8th and 9th, i attended a working interview at PT Mustika Ratu, Tbk and PT Accenta Prosmartindo. Both were big company and the only difference was one of them are located in the central of business district in Jakarta and the other was on the far east region of Jakarta.

In PT Mustika Ratu, Tbk they offered me the Quality Management System Auditor position and in PT Accenta Prosmartindo they offered me as the HR Controller (i guess it's more like a Coordinator leading five different department).

PT Mustika Ratu, Tbk is one of the biggest traditional herbs and drugs manufacturer. Having 2500 or more employees absolutely the most challenging place to work on. Managing work system with that big amount of people are more harder and eventually forcing the middle management to keep the control in any seconds. I've been interviewed by the company's Internal Auditor and we had a nice conversation for about 35 minutes. It's funny that not every big company have an established management system, we've talked a lot about difficulties in their company to maintain the system and i was surprised that their difficulties were more the same like i am facing in my current company.

PT Accenta Prosmartindo is an outsourcing company and it has branch offices around Central Java. I've been interviewed by the owner herself and we had a quite good conversation. We talked about how to control, train and develop applicants before they send them to the company in need. The owner said that she's looking for an employee that can handle, supervise and coordinating five different department in her company. She just said : "i am seeking for an HR Controller". I have to admit that i was so interested working on her company. My main reason is the office was closer to my home and have a decent workplace.

Bottom line, both of the companies offered me with the best opportunities that i couldn't have on my recent company. Bigger salary and far more advanced company.

First Day Mayhem

June 12th,  2008 was my first day back at work since i had liver problem for more than 3 weeks. Lots of changes happened at the office and more problems occurred. As i thought, problems were about the production capabilities and reliabilities that the company hold. I was intentionally back to work that day because in every Thursday, management always having a weekly meeting to discuss every aspects and obstacles on the field.

As always at precisely 14:00 PM all the managers and coordinators were gathered in the meeting room. I was amazed that all of them were present at the time and it never happen before. The Planning and Production Manager made the opening speech, told everyone that he has a big problems and express his "welcome back" to me with saying "finally our mediator/arbiter has arrived so we hope that no more uncompromisable dispute would happen again". I was stunned and keep processing what he just said "uncompromisable dispute". What did happen in the last meeting?.

For about 4,5 hours we had a full of disputes meeting but i was relieved that the disputes were solved and will be evaluated on the next weekly meeting. I have a major concerns about the evaluating process for the next weekly meeting, i have a problem with the top management commitment about their vision and, of course, their commitment to supporting our problem solving process. We always had a promise and certain procedures to handle the problems but when the next weekly meeting come lots of us didn't fulfill the promise and done the procedures, they always make a promise "next week we will" and when the next weekly meeting occurred they said it again "next week we will".

The meeting ran very well all of them were very cooperative to each other and i didn't see any of "uncompromisable disputes" or a "brutal disputes" happen, it just run very smoothly and very well. At precisely 16:15 PM my right stomach was in agony, i felt it very warm and i remember that i had a sudden fever. I was afraid that my liver problem strikes back and i had to rest (again). Approximately 16:45 PM i left the meeting for awhile and went to the bathroom, wash my face and i was shocked.. my face burning red, and at that moment i knew my liver problem was recrudescent.

I attending that meeting in a very painful way, i couldn't concentrate and i accidentally taking a nap in the middle of the meeting. What an embarrassing moment! and at around 18:20 PM the meeting was over and i said to my staff she should typewrite all the meeting conclusions. I rushed to my office room grab all my things and walk straight to the parking lot.

At 19:00 PM i arrived at my house and i felt very awful, queasy and i was very exhausted. I bought a dinner and i took a bath, sweep the floor just a little and watch tv. In about 10 minutes later.. i throw out and i almost unconscious. It was the moment that i've made my decision that tomorrow i won't go to work and went back to my parent home to rest (again).

Well, if only that day, at work, one of the Director present at the office i would like to meet them and talk about my resignation. But it didn't happen because they didn't present at the office.

What a shame..

I Found This Picture So Very Very Interesting

Well, i don't know what to say and how i supposed to react with this picture :

I'm not oppose the gay lifestyle but, what i can i say, i couldn't express myself about this one. I obtained the picture from this website and i only could say that the person has done an extreme avowal to the world. I have to agree that in a way of islam, gay lifestyle considered to be a great sin and a disgrace, but once again i have a very liberal perception about this. I did not and will not avoid, feel ashamed to them who are gay.

What i think is, it's about "free will" of a person how to behave, to opt their own way of life they think it's very compatible and comfortable with them. I respect that.

Final Lab Test

Today i received a fax from Prodia Laboratory. They fax me the blood test result and i am very relieve that my GOT and GPT level are back to normal. Not just that, according to the test result i also didn't have a Hepatitis A, B or C disease so i was sick because i was too exhausted and only liver swelling. I guess this week is my last day(s) to resting and relaxing at home, i have to admit 3 weeks at home and just relax, watching movies, reading books, browsing internet, playing PSP were the best times i had.

So, my days at home near the end and i have to prepare all the things that i should've bring back to work, maybe at monday. I promised myself that i won't work there any longer i just want to adapt myself in the workplace situation first then write my resignation letter and then fly away from there. I might be back to Jakarta and focusing to seek another career while learning TOEFL, International Politic, etc in case there's an opening  vacancies at Foreign Department.

Well, good times passing by really quickly.. but why bad times moving so slowly?
